Why You Should Not Be Home During a Showing

Your home is on the market, potential buyers are visiting.. it is so hard to resist the urge to show off all the special things about your home! But resist you must, homebuyers will feel like intruders if you are home when they visit.Viewing the home under your watchful eye might make them feel uncomfortable, and resistant to talk about how they might change the home to make it perfect for their family. This is really important in the selling process, you want the buyers to invest themselves emotionally in your home.  To give them the freedom to do so, we remove lots of the personal things in your home during our 'uncluttering' phase, and most importantly  we remove you-the seller. Visit the local coffee house, yogurt shop, or take the kids and pets on a walk or to the park. If you absolutely cannot leave, try to remain in an out of the way area of the house or yard and resist the urge to follow the from room to room. Curl up with a good book on the deck, or play music in your car. Allow them to see your home on their terms with the guidance of their agent. And do not worry if they are there a long time, or just for a moment. Viewing homes is a personal process, and each buyer has his own way of determining whether the home they are in is the right one for their family.
